Thanksgiving Prayer
Lord, holy and awesome is your name. You Lord, who created the world, are all-powerful. Soften our hearts to hear your voice.
Bring your blessings upon the fathers and mothers in this house today Lord. Bless our children and our generations with soft and understanding hearts so that they also may know you Lord. Bless them so that they may walk upright in your ways. Bless our generations when they call upon you and pray to you. Bless them so that they may find you when they look for answers. Lord, cause our children to search for you with their hearts. And when they find you give them a future with hope, peace and prosperity. May our descendants walk with you always.
Lord, we are gathered today to thank you for the blessings you have bestowed upon us. Your blessings are the wealth and riches in our houses. We are truly thankful for our prosperity, for you Lord have truly blessed us beyond our needs. We know all good things and wealth come from you. Let our delight be evident by enjoying what you have provided without wanting for more.
Bless the food that is prepared to celebrate this day of gratefulness. Bless the nurturing hands that prepared this meal. May this food nurture our bodies and our spirit so that we may do your will and your work. We pray through your son Christ Jesus - Amen.
